Fun with magnification !!

Here are a few photos I did a wile back, using a old (film) bellows to magnify about 10 times !
                 The photos are full frame , as seen in the view finder ( not cropped in )

                                                            First the back of a penny....

This is what it looked like..... simple one strobe flash (on left side ) with a steady light on to see.
                                        Using a Nikon D70 S digital camera,

                                                                   and a dime....

                                 same dime,  only as close as I could get,

The recent partial Solar Eclipse....

Here are a few photos , of the eclipse, taken in East Brookfield,Ma....my back yard.

                   
                           Used a Nikon D 90 camera, with a 200mm manual focus lens..

                                 Plus a 3 x tele Soligor converter, making it a 600mm !

                                   and the camera sensor size , makes it closer to a 900mm !

                                Using 3 ND filters =  To a 5 stop down, and a F-stop of F90

                                                 and a shutter speed of 1/4000 Second..

                                              and ISO of under 100....

                              Last one , at peak .... then the  clouds ,  rolled in...

Has a built in light meter, ASA 25 to 400 (IS0)

Optical View  Finder,  focus from infinity down to 

8 inches... Spy (007) loved this camera!
